Winsborough are delighted to be bringing Dr Gordy Curphy out from Minneapolis, USA to join us at the Future Trends 2018 Conferences. Dr Curphy is a global Leadership and Senior Teams Expert and is also the developer of the Rocket Model. Based on 20 years of research working with over 1,000 teams, the Rocket Model provides leaders and facilitators with a practical roadmap for transforming collections of individuals into high performing teams.


The founder of Winsborough, Dave Winsborough, is also a founding father on teams and leadership. He is a prolific author, presenter and thinker who has spent the last two years heading the Innovation team, HoganX, at Hogan Assessments in New York. He is back in New Zealand to rejoin the Winsborough team and at Future Trends will be sharing his insights on modern methods of psychological profiling, talent management and high performance teamwork.

Senior teams

Orla Leonard will be speaking about her research on senior teams at the Future Trends Conferences in New Zealand. She will address the future of teams and how they operate in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment, based on her research recently published in the Harvard Business Review.


Gordy Curphy

Gordy is a leading authority on leadership and teams, and spends most of his time helping C-suite and business unit leaders develop and execute business strategies; drive organisational alignment; manage talent; and build high performing teams.

Gordy has spent the past 35 years providing consulting advice on leadership and has written more than 20 books on leadership and teams. As a consultant, he has conducted more than 1,500 executive assessments, consulted with thousands of teams, and designed and delivered hundreds of executive coaching and leadership development programmes to global clients.

Dave Winsborough

An expert on leadership at the top of organisations, Dave is recognised for his skills in building high performance senior teams.

He is the author of Fusion: The Psychology of Teams, which describes the hard, soft and deep factors that create the conditions for teams to win and team members to thrive.

Gus McIntosh

Gus is a Partner and Director at Winsborough. He heads the Senior Leadership Team to build Winsborough capability and deliver effective innovative leadership solutions to customers.

Along with almost 20 years of professional delivery and consulting experience, Gus also has a strong digital interest and capability. He has been instrumental in developing all of Winsborough’s online offerings (including the 360-Leadership Benchmark Survey and Report, and ‘Goal-keeper”). He is co-author of the Hogan Team Report, and brings a unique capability to merge psychology and technology for the benefit of clients and individual leaders.

Orla Leonard

Orla Leonard is a partner in the London office and serves as leader for RHR’s Senior Team Effectiveness practice. Her duties include spearheading research, coordinating efforts with clients, and supporting consultants in the field.

Orla has more than 20 years of experience working with executives around the globe to identify and develop the human potential in their organisations, with a particular focus on the beverage, fast-moving consumer goods, pharmaceutical, and professional services industries.

Orla’s areas of expertise include executive coaching and senior team effectiveness. Her practice has increasingly focused on enabling senior teams to align around a compelling organisational agenda and adopt the leadership behaviour necessary to execute it. She works regularly with CEOs and their teams to upgrade the performance of the operating board.

She has contributed to the Harvard Business Review online and Chief Executive magazine.
